Fur Baby Fall Treat

Hey!

You know me and how I treat Audrey like my child.

With that said....

This Thanksgiving don't forget about your Fur Babies! You should make them an extra special Fall Treat.

Yep... Time to get all of those cookie cutters out and start making some treats! 

My little fur brother, Buddy, and Audrey get spoiled when I do some baking!

Now, Apples are great for your Fur babies!

Apples are a great source of Vitamin C, Fiber, Potassium , calcium and phosphorus which are all good for your dog!

They are a great sweet treat that are good for their teeth as well!

Only thing that is not good are the apple seeds because they contain cyanide and that's a no no for the pups.

Pumpkin is also a great added treat for your Fur babies. It helps give the extra fiber.

Helps with constipation.

Good for weight loss.

Oils found in pumpkin seeds and flesh are believed to support urinary health.

Also read that it will help make their coat have an extra shine.

These are a of Audrey's favorites... Funny how she won't eat a cut up apple but in the treats she goes nuts for them! They smell Delicious!

Pumpkin and Apple Dog Treats

 Ingredients

2 1/3 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup finely diced apple

1/2 cup pumpkin

1 egg

1/2 cup water

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Whisk together flour and baking powder until no lumps remain. Add diced apple, pumpkin, egg, and water and stir until the dry ingredients are moistened.

3. Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface and use cookie cutters to cut out shapes. Transfer  the cut outs to the parchment- lined backing sheet.

4. Bake about 30 mins or until crisp. Cool completely on a wire rack before sharing with your Fur Baby!

Now the cooling period.... you might wanna go for a walk.... if your Fur baby is anything like Audrey... they will stay in the kitchen... give you dirty looks and whine... until that cool down period is over!

Just warning you... 

Also,  if you have never baked treat for your fur baby...If you fur baby is anything like Audrey.... be aware that for a short period of time after... every time you baked something in the oven as soon as the timer for the oven goes off... they may go a little crazy thinking it is for them...
